Impeller
The impeller is the heart of the pump. This unique 21st century impeller has a patented design to eliminate cavitation. It is a 2-blade spiral smooth flow open impeller, nonclog designed to handle up to 3.2" solids. The impeller pulls water directly into the pump from the priming tank, reducing friction losses, and then pushes it out the volute discharge. This new design normally does not cause turbulence.

Priming System
An innovative , simple, yet rugged and dependable vacuum system. Direct drive means no belt and with only one moving part means no maintenance. This is a liquid ring design with a closed water system. Separate oil bath lubrication for the seal and bearings with oil reservoir, can run dry without damage. No pollution or unwanted discharge noise, very quiet operation. Patented with a 5-year warranty.

Float and Backflush
(Priming Tank)
The priming tank float is a one-piece welded construction, rubber valve seat, self-aligning rubber hinge. A durable simplistic solution to one of the most frequent problem areas of a primeassist pump. This design also improves vacuum levels. The backflush valve allows for cleaning of the suction strainer or wellpoint heads.

Fuel Tank Frame
Up to 72 hours run time with the InstaPrime’s fuel tank, good for continuous running for those longterm jobs. 2 corner fuel drains to check condition of fuel. The patented TrackBar system allows for the easy addition of jack stands, fenders, axle, lifting bail, and other options. This allows for fast and easy positioning of the jack stands on the job site to fit the application, or to add/ subtract jack stands as required. Removable retractable towing tongue to minimize storage requirements and minimize shipping costs. Available in surge (hydraulic) or optional electric brakes, both with DOT lighting.

Volute
Pump Volute has an external inspection cover to inspect or clear the impeller. The pump shaft bearings and mechanical seal are run in independent oil baths for low maintenance.

Wear Plate
The wear plate is also patented.
In conjunctin with the impeller, this gives you a perfect match for great pump per formance and durability. The wear plate can be fully adjusted up to .6 inch (15mm) for wear.

Why Use Prime-Assist Pumps?
Prime-assist pumps differ from wet-prime or traditional “self-priming” water pumps. Wet-prime pumps require sufficient water in the pump casing to fill the casing above the horizontal center line of the impeller. This allows the pump to produce a reduced pressure on the suction side and remove the air from the suction hose and the pump casing. A prime-assist pump uses compressed air (in a venturi system) or a vacuum pump to remove the air. This becomes important in certain applications such as long suction hose runs or multiple suction points (such as wellpoints). In these cases high volumes of air enters into the pump and the wetprime method is insufficient to handle this air volume. InstaPrime uses a direct-drive vacuum pump to efficiently remove very large volumes of air quickly to obtain the priming necessary for these special applications. Due to its design, the InstaPrime prime assist pumps have excellent water handling characteristics. They can move large amounts of water quickly for fast and efficient dewatering applications. Use InstaPrime when you have to move a lot of water fast.
